Android Trust SDK NFC Error Codes
This table consolidates the NFC error codes reported by the Trust SDK NFC component (nfcmanager module on Android).
NFC Error Code | Description |
|---|---|
NFC scan was cancelled manually by the user.
NFC input data parsing failed. This typically means supplied chip-read input such as BAC or MRZ data could not be parsed correctly before or during the NFC operation.
NFC dialog rendering failed because the Android NFC dialog fragment transaction could not be completed successfully.
App went to the background during NFC reading, causing the scan to be interrupted or cancelled before completion.
NFC read completed with incomplete data, meaning one or more required data groups could not be read.
NFC scanning process found no data available from the tag. In Android native SDK terms, this aligns with
NFC reader failed unexpectedly during processing. In the Android native SDK mapping, this corresponds to
NFC tag or document is not supported. On Android, this maps to
NFC scan failed because the required reader implementation is unavailable or not implemented. In practice, this can indicate the document or tag does not support the expected reader path.
NFC scanning failed because the NFC SDK license is invalid. A retry will not usually succeed unless the license or application configuration changes.
NFC scanning failed due to an unknown native NFC error without a more specific TrustX mapping. This is the generic fallback for native NFC failures.
NFC foreground dispatcher could not be enabled, preventing Android from correctly routing NFC events to the active scan flow.
Received Android intent is not compatible with NFC processing, so the scan cannot proceed.
NFC chip authentication failed. This can occur during chip access or MRZ/BAC/PACE-related authentication with the document chip.
Input payload passed into the NFC operation is invalid or could not be parsed correctly. This is broader than chip-reader parsing and refers to invalid operation-call input.
Application moved to the background or entered a stopped lifecycle state while the NFC operation was active, causing the operation to fail.
